Police search for drug smugglers

Police are searching for drug smugglers after compresses dagga, valued at over R500,000, was seized near Cape Town International Airport.

This was one of two busts by officials in the area over the past few days.

Last week, two men were arrested after a large consignment of illegal cigarettes were found hidden in a trailer.

The police’s Frederic van Wyk said that in a second drug bust on Sunday, hashish was found on a bus.

“The members received information and the drugs and cash were found in the suitcase that was in one of the overhead compartments,” he said.
